Downey's Farm Market Pumpkin Fest, Caledon

October is a perfect month to visit a pumpkin field.  Downey's farm market is located at 13682 Heart Lake Road, Caledon.  They are having a pumpkin fest right now where you can select your own pumpkin from the field.  They also have a bakery and gift shop, corn maze, donkey ride, family fun play area where your kids can have fun.  I went to Folks of Credit as well for the red maple trees but it's not time yet and the leaves are still green...  Maybe give them another week or so to turn red...

Downey's Farm, a place where I go every year to have fun~

It's a pretty crowded today when I got there...

A closer shot at the pumpkin field!  Holy!

Pick your own pumpkins and put them in this wheel barrow.

There are over 1000 pumpkins to choose from!

Here is a closer shot of the pumpkin.

Beautiful Mums

Here is a close shot of the Mums.

There are all sorts of pumpkins to choose from as well!

These are Cinderella pumpkins

Squash, which belongs to the pumpkin family I guess, have a lot of shapes as well!

This is another kind of weird looking pumpkins or squash.

Mini pumpkins, mostly for in house decoration.

Wheat bundle, this can be a good in house decoration too.

A squash that grew so much like a shape of a goose...so cute!

A touch of Fall

This is a close shot at the wheat.

Assorted Ontario grown apples

I like the way these squashes sit on the stand!  =)

Here is another touch of Fall.

Kids love these drawings.

Cute decors

These dried corn cobs are Fall items as well

Ontario apples, I only know a few of their names...

Um....cookie jars??!!  Piggy banks?!

Maple syrup.

Brussels sprouts.  Too bad our home grown brussels sprouts are way smaller than these...

....I think people use these to brush carrots... (They have this in potato and mushroom shape as well...)

Um....candles??!  I don't think they are jams

Piggy bank?!!  Nope!  Cookie jar??!  Nope!  It's a sponge holder!!  =)  I have something like this at home too, but it's a frog~

Pastries

Turkey cookie.  $1.99 each?!  That's a rip off!!

Pumpkin pies!!  Ewwww......

Another shot of this goose like squash

White pumpkins, which is very rare to see.

More mini pumpkins~~

This is another kind of pumpkin

Here is another shot of these pumpkins

This is the entrance to the corn maze, playground and other farm activities which you will need to pay a small fee to enter.

Prize winning pumpkins - seem very ordinary...

Sour apples

Here is the last shot at the pumpkin field before I leave.

Pick your own pumpkin, I wonder how much it cost each.

Pony ride

Only 3 ponies going round about, you pay $5 for a 3 mins ride.

Leaving the site.

We just explored the area around Downey's.

 Here is a corn field.

Then we headed north on Hurontario Street.

...And here we are, at Folks of Credit.  This is a very nice scenic route to see red maple trees.

Yet, the leaves are not red yet....  Booooo......

Still green in fact!  Well, maybe give them another 2 weeks....

This place will be so beautiful if the leaves are red with a river next to it.

Look at the road sign!!  Worse than U-turn!!

There is this rail close by too!!  We used to be able to walk on the rail and enjoy the red maples at the same time but the cops have closed the road and we can't do this anymore.

Here is another shot at Folks of Credit

We passed by more areas and here are some maple trees that had turned yellow/red.
