Mom was so hungry that she made this stir fried rice cake in a rush. Same as chap chee, there is no specific ingredients for this dish. Just add whatever you like as ingredient and stir fry them with rice cake. Add hot pepper paste to the dish if you wanna spice up yourself. Mom didn't add any meat here 'coz she said meat takes longer time to cook (and she apparently can't wait!! Funny huh!). Stir fried rice cake is one of my favorite food but I don't eat it often, my husband doesn't really like it and making it just for myself...there is no point.
Knowing I ain't gonna eat it, Mom kept adding chilli red pepper and hot sauce!! @@
Cut the rice cake into slice first. Mom said this rice cake has wheat germ inside, so the color is kinda brown.
Korean hot chilli paste (not sure if this is the bibimbap sauce), dilute it with water first.
Chop up whatever ingredients you want first. I have here black fungus, mushroom, carrot and green onion is for garnishing.
Stir fry the mushroom first, add in sugar, salt, cooking wine, water...etc.
Weird, color of the electric stove is red but when I took this picture, it turned out purple.
Stir in carrot afterwards. Water added, steam is coming up now.
Out of no where Mom found some chopped cabbage and dumped them in.
Dumped in the rice cake afterward. (Mom did this in a rush I bet she must be very hungry...)
Keep stir frying...
Dump in the black fungus.
Almost done, it' time to add the coloring now!!
(゚Д゚)...
Not enough color, Mom added more chilli paste afterwards.... She kept stir frying 'coz the rice cake is starting to stick to the pan...and my picture became like this...
Done.
Closer shot. I think this rice cake is a bit too dry. I would have added more water to it. Taste good though!

Cheddar Bay Biscuits (Experiment)
Cheddar bay biscuit is an appetizer which Red Lobster serves when dining there. Mom has never tried these Red Lobsters biscuits before but since she got a request to do it, here it is and she has made this from scratch. This is just Mom's experiment, and it tastes totally different from Red Lobters'. I've tried making this using baking mix too, my texture was quite close but it tastes totally different (I've added too much butter~) . Mom, we will bring you to Red Lobsters one day so that you can try their biscuits and make them for us again! =D
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 tablespoon baking powder
2 teaspoons sugar 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1/2 cup butter, softened
1 1/4 cups grated cheddar cheese 1/2 cup sour cream
1 1/4 cups milk
Topping:
6 tablespoons butter, melted 1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon parsley Dash of salt
Grate the cheddar cheese first.
Done.
In a food processor, mix all dry ingredients together including butter.
Done.
Add grated cheddar cheese to the mixture.
Add sour cream (full fat) and milk.
Slightly fold them together....
...until all ingredients are roughly mixed (don't over-fold the mixture).
Scoop the mixture with an ice-cream scoop...
....and place it in a baking pan.
Like this.
In another bowl, melt butter, stir in garlic powder, parsley, and a dash of salt.
Brush each biscuit with the butter mixture.
Bake at 450°F for 25 minutes. (Preheat the oven first)
I think it's a bit over baked...
When it's almost done, take it out...
...and brush it with the remaining melted butter. Put the biscuits back into the oven and bake it for another 5 mins or so.
Done!
Um...looks a bit burnt and moist compared to those at Red Lobster.
This is what it looks like in the middle.
Biscuits is dried and um...a bit 'chewy', not salty enough. Tasted totally different from Red Lobsters. This is Mom's first experiment, she said she will try doing this again next time.

Korean Stir Fried Noodles 韓式雜錦菜
Korean stir fried noodle is actually a very easy-to-make dish. I always see these cooked noodle packages for sale in Korean supermarkets but they don't usually have a lot of ingredients in it, just purely seasoned noodle in most cases. There is no fixed ingredients for this noodle and you can mix whatever you like inside, and because of this, there is no recipe for it. I guess the most challenging part is getting the noodle prepared before mixing all ingredients in that's it.
Korean stir fried noodles, it's not too hard to make afterall.
Soak the Korean noodle in cold water for about half an hour to get it soft first.
Drain it.
If you don't have time to soak it, just put it into the hot boiling water directly.
Once it's soft, drain it again. Its suggested that you rinse the noodle with icy cold water to prevent further cooking.

Cut the noodle into an eatable length.
Season it with lots of sesame oil and soya sauce first. Mix well.
Add whatever ingredient you prefer. Here I have fresh mushrooms.
Spinach. Boil the spinach in hot water first, then drain it and squeeze out all the water, and cut it into
one inch in length.
Here are other ingredients my Mom used: dried mushroom, carrot & 'cloud ear' fungus. Cut/shred it into small pieces and stir fry all these ingredients first (season them with salt, sugar, black pepper will do).
Here are two more ingredients: egg and onion. Stir fry the onion as well.

Spinach cut into length like this...
Place the spinach on the seasoned Korean noodle, like this.
Stir fry the carrot and put them into the bowl as well.
Then add the stir fried onions.
Stir fry all these mushroom first.
...Then put everything into the noodle container. (Remember to use a large bowl!)
Done!! I didn't know Mom puts that many ingredients into the bowl 'till she has finished.
Mix them well. No need to cook 'coz everything inside this bowl is already cooked.
Done!! Serve as is.
Here is a closer shot.

This is the brand that Mom recommends, she said you can get it from local Korean supermarkets.
