Highlight of My Day - Cloud

St. Jacobs Farmer Market

I like going to St. Jacobs 'coz there are lots of things to see and it's nice to spend a day there.  Other than the farmer market, you can also visit the peanut factory and Downtown St. Jacobs (though there isn't much to see).  Or, make a trip to those small towns that's close by is fun as well.  I join a big group of people each time when I go to the farmer market...so my routine is fixed...  Perhaps I should drive my own car next time...  (Jun 25: my trip took place in early June and it almost took me a whole month to write this post....that's not looking good.....)  (Jun 29: 這個 trip 在六月頭去,到現在才 post,除了因為太多博文要排隊 post 外,最住要是沒有心機寫.... 這篇文章可能會雜亂無章,莫怪。)

St. Jacobs map.  It's kinda hard to see I know....well, at least I know where I'll be heading next time!  =)
It was a very cold & cloudy day.....  We couldn't cancel our trip 'coz it was being planned long time ago...

It looks cute but I wouldn't buy this for sure....

Rhubarb.  These rhubarbs are nice and fresh.  My mom made the rhubarb pie once, and after that I will never eat rhubarb I swear!!

Mom asked me to take a picture of this, here you go...  See if you can read it....

These corns must be imported from somewhere!!  Corns aren't usually ready 'til the end of August in most cases...

These cherries must be imported from somewhere too!!  Cherries aren't usually ready 'til the 1st week of July or so.

Asparagus.  I wondered if they're grown in Ontario~~~

Too chilled, I went into the indoor market to take pictures...  Smoke pork hock, looks good!!  Well, I like those smoked turkey drumsticks better!!  =D

Lots of samples here!!  Different kinds of sausage, meat, cheese and stuff!!  Sampled a few pieces from each vendor and I'm all full!  @@

Bacon~~  Mmmmmm......

Local vendors, look at how colorful those veggies are~!

Raspberries.   Very fresh~

Spinach feta focaccia.  1, is focaccia some sort of Italian food??!!  2, is it related to pizza??  This thing looks good to me though.

Salami and peperoni, not sure why this place (St. Jacobs) produce a lot of these things...

Home made pickles... Wow....

Dog bones~!  =D

This is one of the food vendor at St Jacobs.  I had my meal here last time, it was gross...so I ate somewhere else this time.

French fries and foot long hot dog...  Looks very bored....

French fries are not crisp at all...tasteless and soft....  NO GOOD!

Now my hot dog looks more colorful huh?!  Hot dog is not hot at all, just barely warm, no juice, hard and dried.  Bun is not even warm either!!  Well, what can you expect from these food vendors here?!

Birdhouse gourds, I have several of these at home but they have no holes.  I wonder how come these gourds look so dirty...the one I have at home is so clean....

My favorite popcorn vendor!!  I used to buy popcorn from them everytime when I visit St. Jacobs...  Yeah, USED TO!!!  I found a brand of sweet popcorn which tasted better, so...  Besides, their bag size shrunk alot!!  See!!  That bag there cost $5, 2 for $8.

It would be cute if I have this in my garden, and I'm sure this thing will go fast too if I leave it outside unattended!

Samosas.  These samosas are huge in size!!  I wonder if I need to heat them up first before eating?!  Nevertheless they're in the 'fridge'??!  Sort of...

Stuffed green peppers, is that only minced pork inside?  I wonder how it tastes.  Well, I will do more than just 'green' peppers honestly....  Get the colors on, do it in yellow, red and orange as well as least!

Freshly made salmon roast w/ seafood stuffing.  That looks very appealing.  =D  I wonder how it tastes...   I have my own recipe in making salmon roast, I marinate my salmon w/ back bean sauce + rice vinaigrette + garlic + shallot + soya sauce + ginger...etc and grill it on the cedar plank.

I don't know what this is, not even sure if I need to heat them up first before eating, but they look delish to me!!  Um...some sort of Mediterranean food I guess?!

Ahhh....see, these breads have to be warmed on the BBQ!!!  I thought I can just eat it as is.  Doesn't look very hard to make though, I think I can make it myself as long as I know how to make the plain bread.

Isn't this pizza in another way??!

Fresh asparagus, $4 per bucket.  The price is not bad.

Pepperoni.  3 bags for $10.

They have 3 different spiciness to choose from:  no spicy at all, mild and hot.

I wonder, do you just go through my pictures here or do you actually read my captions too?  Lets do a game here:  find my secret phase in this post and leave me comment if you find it.  Okay??!  =)

See how colorful these veggies are!!  =D

Here is another shot at the veggie vendor.

Sweet mixed pepper.  Interesting to see that they actually put one color each in the basket.  =D

Assorted mushrooms.  It should taste good if all assorted mushroom stir fried together.

$7 a basket for mixed mushrooms.  Here is the first part of my hidden phrase:  Love only exists in legend...

Holy!!!  That's poor rose!!  o_O!!  Have you ever seen a rose that has all 7 rainbow colors??!

Mom always like to buy flower from this flower vendor, but not these bouquet of course~!  =)

Wa.....beef steak tomatoes, my mom used to grow these at home....but not anymore!  =(

Local radishes.  Are these really local radishes?  Or there are just imports again?!

Sweet peas.  My aunt in Calgary used to grow a lot of sweet peas at her backyard, she told me to pick and eat from the plant, which I did, but then I had the sort throats right afterwards...

Assorted bagels.  3 bags for $5, that's a good price I think.

Local strawberries, $20 per box....strawberries look so small!

Potatoes!  =D  One of my favorite.

Mom and her friend was buying pineapple and I have nothing to do...so I was taking random shot.

Went to this peanuts factory afterwards.  This is a must visit place for everyone....

Lots of peanuts to choose from....

Lots of sampling too!!  =)

The sky started to clear up once we've arrived Downtown St. Jacobs.

So cute~~~  This decor is made of metal.

Here is another sample, and there are lots more!

Balancing garden stake~~  So cute!!  ...and they're very heavy too!

Bored waiting for my Mom and her friend...I started to take random pics~

Corn broom maker~~  I thought these brooms are made of hays...if there is a difference....

I don't know what exactly he is doing but this is part of the process.

That's neat.  Here is the last part of my hidden phrase:  ....perhaps love is a lie.

That's a very unique utensil holder!!  It's made from wine bottle.

I think I take picture of this whenever I go to St. Jacobs....  Nothing new I guess....

'The Ice-cream Salon'.  the house looks very um....old....

Sitting across from this place waiting for my Mom and her friend again, I took a picture of this store here, just a random shot....

Gourmet Village.  That's cute, I thought at first this is a recipe book....but it turned out these are seasoning packs.

See, they have all kinds of flavor too!!

LOL!!  Beer can chicken seasoning that comes with a beer can as well!  =D

My husband makes really good beer can chicken!  =D

Open the box and you will see this inside!  How neat!

Assorted seasonings, everything with garlic.

Instant soup, just add water and boil...  Eww.....

Maple syrups, Mom bought a big bottle of this (I don't know which kind though), she said it's good for health.

Walked into this bakery store (I forgot the name) and I started taking pictures again~~  LOL!

This mousse cake looks good but too sweet....

Don't dream, I won't eat these cup cakes...they are good for decor that's all.

Mom wanted me to take a picture of these pansies...so here you go Mom....

I know for sure I will never be able to fish like this!!  .......

More garden stack~~~

It's heavy!!!

And cute too~~  Heee....
