I took this picture from a nursery garden somewhere in Markham, I forgot which one 'coz it was kinda north in a hidden road, sort of. It was a stormy morning with rain poured like cats and dogs, but it stopped early in the afternoon. Water droplets on this rose were all natural. It took me quite some times to catch the shot 'coz the rose was placed outside the nursery and with the strong wind, it swung left and right like crazy.

Picture of My Day - Cicada 蟬
Cicada - My first time seeing a real one in my life. It landed on my balcony one day and I didn't know what it was until I looked closer. I grabbed my camera at once and took several shots of it. The pictures I took at first were from a distance, 'coz I was afraid it might bite me or flew away when I got closer. But it didn't!! Instead, it just idled and I was able to get really close! I didn't realize this cicada was sort of green in color until I looked at my pictures afterwards. I think it wouldn't hurt me if I tried to pick it up...it's just I don't have guts to do so!

Taste of Asia Festival 2011
The Taste of Asia event takes place right outside of Pacific Mall at Kennedy Rd. and Steeles Ave. E. Like previous years, it lasts for two days and during this free admission event, you can enjoy live band performances, kids ride zones, 3 on 3 basketball tournaments, auto show and there are over 150 vendor booths...etc. Finding a parking spot is a challenge during these 2 days, I'll suggest you to arrive there before 11am to secure a spot.
This flower panel is laid out by different kinds of flowers.
A shot from the Steeles/Kennedy intersection.
3 on 3 basketball tournament.
Kids ride zone
McDonald giving out free roasted coffee.
Automobile graffiti. I bet she just started drawing and I wonder what it looks like when she finished.
There are a lot of booths at the event.
BBQ lamb/beef skewer - I see this the most at the event.
Another BBQ lamb skewer booth.
BBQ squid tentacles and tofu. $3/skewer (squid tentacles)
Can't believe they use a drywall trowel as a cooking utensil.
Funnel cake & jumbo ears.
Free tap water - it tasted pretty good honestly!
A shot from the Pacific Mall entrance.
Korea sampling booth.
Another side of the Korea sampling booth.
Some other sampling booths.
Soccor game - You will get a price when you scored by kicking the ball into one of the nets next to the guard.
Surprise to see a booth selling aquarium products!
A closer shot of the BBQ lamb skewer, looks good.
BBQ lamb/beef/pork skewer, the owner just placed the skewers on the rack.
The one and only booth selling Shawerma at the event.
This is also the only booth selling Indian food.
It wraps up the 'pan cake' like the above picture. Don't know how it tastes though.
Do-re-mi Japanese style noodle sample. I think their decoration is pretty nice.
....Food scatter around on the racks, but I'm sure they sell squid tentacles...
I think they are selling oden here...
Tako balls, I seldom eat tako balls 'coz they usually add a lot of batter into the tako ball but only gives you a tiny piece of octopus.
This booth sells Satay chicken I think, finally no more BBQ lamb skewers!
A closer shot at the Satay chicken.
I don't know what these wraps are...must be something from Malaysia or Indonesia?!
Mini size oyster pancake mixed with veggies.
Waaa.....a lot of stir fried noodles here!!
Deep fried potato ring. Looks neat, I've seen this in St. Jacob's farmer market but I haven't tried it before.
Wei's smelly tofu. It stinks really bad but taste really good when you dip it with hot sauce and Hoisin sauce.
Another shot of the smelly tofu.
BBQ sausage booth.
A closer shot at the BBQ sausage and octopus ball.
Diana's seafood also has a booth here at the event. $10 for 8 pieces of fresh oyster opens right in front of your eyes by professionals.
These are all the opened ones and I don't know if it's good or not 'coz I don't eat oysters.
A closer shot of how a professional opens an oyster.
A booth selling mixed pan fried onion and squid tentacles.
See how popular these BBQ lamb skewer booths are? Here is another one!
Finally see something that represents Hong Kong! Traditional fish ball, beef tendon ball in curry sauce.
Another booth that serves tako balls.
BBQ lamb, chicken, beef skewer booth again...
I promise, this will be my last picture of the BBQ lamb skewer...
York BBS - I don't know what they sell but these ladies at the booth look like a...
Buick booth - conduct a short survey at their booth and they will give you a pretty nice cup (as shown) in return.
Another shot of the booths at the event, see how crowded it is!
Live band performance stage.
