Electric Blue Cray 藍龍蝦

Many people think that crayfish are lobsters but they are not.  Crayfish are freshwater cretaceous that can be found in streams or brooks.  I have 3 electric blue crayfish to start with and they lived happily in my 40 gallon community tank at first...not until I figured that they started to kill my other fish!!  I gave one to Mom and kept the other two in a separate container.

Surprise to see them out of water huh??  It won't harm them if they have no water for a couple of minutes, just not like hours.

My husband usually put them in a sink when he is changing the water for them.  You need to be gentle when picking up these crayfish, especially after they just mold since their body is very fragile.

One of my crayfish (female) just molted and my husband insisted me to take a picture of it's empty shell.  It looks like an alien skull to me.  Ewww......!!  Don't ever throw away the shell 'coz the crayfish will most likely eat it's own shell to get the necessary nutrition from it.

Spring time, mating season (I think).  This male bastard has forced the female into mating by clipping onto her two claws!!  (You only see one claw there 'coz the other one is being ripped off!)  Several days later, both her claws were gone!!  BOTH!!!  I flared, transferring the female back to the 40 gallon tank.  Forget about the mating!!  Geez...

She was a bit nervous at first, trying to find a hiding spot.  Look at her!!!  Claw-less!!!

 ...........
Not too sure if her claws will grow again or not in her next mold.  Eventhough it does, it won't be as big as it used to...

At least she finds herself more comfortable though, climbing up to the top of my plant....but she looks awkward without the claws!  She can't hurt my fish now ('coz she is claw-less), but my fish can hurt her, especially that naughty Yoyo!  Arrrrgggggg!!!!!

花花世界 - 第三彈

I took these pictures mostly from an oriental supermarket called Oceans.  Oceans Fresh Food Market is located in the heart of Mississauga - Burnhamthorpe Rd. and Huontario Street.  I'm surprise that they have a small nursery garden next to the supermarket.  Although the nursery is small, they sell different types of plants and their price is usually a lot cheaper than the other nurseries.

Orchid

Looks like this flower open it's mouth and say, "呀............................"

Morning Glory 雙瓣喇叭花

Daffodils 水仙

Pink at the bottom and yellow at top, this flower is very tiny and I guess it belongs to the cactus family.  Don't know it's name though.

No clue of what this flower's name is.  However, it looks like a hairy brain coral.

Cockscomb 雞冠花.  I think it looks more like a 雞屎忽.

Sunflower.

I don't know the name of this flower but it looks cute.  Unlike the 'something' of the Valley, this flower does not have any smell.

Another Calla Lily 馬蹄蘭

Snapdragon. 狗仔花 shocking pink 系列.  (I made up the name myself)

Bak Choi sprout.  I can't believe they can grow this big in a tiny small plastic container.  There are 4 sprouts here.

Holy smug!! ......fully grown!!  Let's harvest them and eat!!  Serve good with Won Ton!!

Another type of fully grown veggie.

Those bell-shaped flower again.  It looks more cute when their tip is still closed.

Calla Lilies 馬蹄蘭

I think this is Azalea 杜鵑花?

Another type of moss type plant that spread on the ground.

I don't know what this is, but I think it's cool to take the picture of this plant after a heavy rain.

English Daises.

Rain pour heavily while I took this picture.

 Pea sprout.

Another shoot of the straw flower, it comes in orange, yellow, white in color.  Mom get this one next year!!

Gerbera Daisy - it comes in many different colors too!!  I remembered I got a bouquet of Gerbera on my graduation.  So nice!!  =D

This is what my mom has bought.

花花世界 - 第二彈

This is part two of my flower album.  I took most of these pictures from a nursery garden at around Kennedy Rd. and 19th Ave., Markham.  They have a huge variety of plants to choose from, and some of the flowers are so rare that you it's hard to find it elsewhere.

Snapdragon. 狗仔花系列之: 大黃狗!!  Hahaha!!

This flower has a pretty cool name I think: Origami Mix!!  It has a lot of color as well: white, pink, red, purple...etc.

Pink Origami Mix - it looks a bit like an alien head from the side...

Well camouflaged!  If I don't look closer, I wouldn't know that it's a flower!!

Waaa........!!

Bleeding Heart - a heart shaped flower.  This flower comes in many color as well: white, pink...

I think this plant belongs to the moss family, it spreads widely once you plant it on the ground.

I don't know what kind of flower this is, but it looks like another type of alien head...  Like the alien in the movie Species.

Purple origami mix.

'Delosperma Cooperi'

Another type of Hosta.

Dahlia.

My favorite: English Daisy!!

Small 'alien heads'...

Gerbera Daisy 非洲菊?

This one is cool.  The flower itself is huge, but I dont' know what this is....

This flower looks fake.  It feels more fake if you touch it, as if it's made by straw...that's why it's call Straw Flower.

A skid of grass roll, half gone.

These flowers are very tiny, but they have a very pleasant fragrance.  I forgot it's name, Mom said it's something of the valley.  May 29: got it's name today: Lily of the valley!!

Another shot of my favorite~

Sun flower - easy to tell!  =D

Snapdragon. 狗仔花系列之: 粉狗

Herb basket.  I can only tell there are parsley and rosemary in this basket.  That plant on the bottom right corner has a very strong lemon fragrance, it's call lemon thyme.
